Wednesday, November 5, 2025 – Scholarship & Public Theology Day

8:30 am Registration & Opening Devotions Morning worship/devotional session to set a reflective tone for the day.

9:30 – 10:15 am

“Sawubona” storytelling circle Global discussion on the witness and legacy of women and girls from the Caribbean, Colombia and an African nation. The panel showcases personal stories of passion, justice struggles and legacies.
10:15 – 10:30 am Q&A Questions and dialogue arising from the storytelling circle.
10:45- 11:30 am Resource & Capacity Work group Presentation on “Today’s Little Justice Girls” based on the book of Esther, including video interviews with girls aged 10–15 who are active in justice work in their communities.
11:30 – 11:45 am Q&A Discussion on how these young leaders are enacting change.
11:45 – 1:00 pm Lunch Networking and informal discussions.
1:00 – 4:00 pm Justice Immersion Deep‑dive session exploring justice from multiple angles. Includes a tour and panel discussions:
1:30 – 2:30 pm   Historical tour Guided tour of either Metropolitan AME Church or Asbury United Methodist, focusing on their social‑justice work over the decades.
2:30 – 3:30 pm  Panel discussion “Rewriting the Narrative on Justice – Programs/Empowerment for Youth and Young Adults.” Moderator: Rev. Rochelle Andrews; speakers include Rev. Ryan Nickens (The Traron Center) and Ms. Gabrielle Martinez (Black Girl TRIBE).
3:30 – 3:45 pm Q&A Audience questions on the Justice Immersion panel.
5:00 -7:00 pm Dinner/Reception A social gathering to reflect on the day’s sessions and network.

Thursday, November 6, 2025 – Advocacy Day

9:05–9:25 am Morning devotion Spiritual reflection to ground the advocacy work ahead.
9:25–9:30 am Introduction of Dr. Barbara Reynolds Rev. Dr. Angelique Walker‑Smith introduces the speaker.
9:30–9:55 am Dr. Barbara Reynolds Insights from a member of the UN Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent, focusing on global justice issues.
10:00–10:25 am Ambassador Sandra Bowen Presentation by the representative of the 6th Region of the African Union on African‑diaspora engagement.
10:30–10:45 am Q&A Dialogue with the morning speakers.
10:45–11:00 am Break Short recess.
11:00 am–12:15 pm Advocacy Training Workshop covering: what happened in U.S. public policy in 2025 (e.g., HR‑1 and the Rescission Bill); the implications for food sovereignty; why advocacy voices still matter; and crafting an ask for Congress.
12:15 pm Lunch Opportunity to network and prepare for hill visits.
12:45–1:00 pm Travel to Capitol Hill Journey from Bread for the World to Capitol Hill.
1:00–5:00 pm Advocacy on Capitol Hill Meetings with legislators and staffers to advance the conference’s policy goals.
5:00–7:00 pm Reception/Dinner Evening meal and reflection. A chance to debrief and discuss advocacy experiences.

Friday, November 7, 2025 – Latinx & Rewriting the Narrative Day

9:00–9:15 am Devotions/Worship Devotional session focused on Latinx perspectives and rewriting the narrative.
9:15–10:30 am Latinx Work Group panel Discussion featuring Brazilian Evangelical Pan‑African women doing justice and liberation work in Brazil, highlighting cross‑continental solidarity.
10:30–10:45 am Q&A Interactive dialogue on the morning’s panel.
10:45–11:30 am ReWriting the Narrative Work Group Workshop on using the internet, social media and AI responsibly to advance justice; also covers alternative communication platforms when social media isn’t available.
11:30–11:45 am Q&A Questions about digital strategies and media alternatives.
11:45 am -12:30 pm Evaluation & Next Steps Participants review the conference, plan future collaborations and consider how to carry the narratives forward.
12:30 pm onwards Closing service Led by the Resource & Capacity Work Group and the Leadership Team, offering spiritual closure and commissioning for continued work
